Great American Cleanup Time!

Bright n' Beautiful

Local Volunteers Act to Clean, Restore, and Renew Billings, Yellowstone County

During the 2024 Great American Cleanup

Bright n’ Beautiful Great America Cleanup Day in Billings Slated for Saturday April 27

Billings, MT (April 8, 2024) Bright n' Beautiful, a Yellowstone County nonprofit which seeks a clean, green, and more beautiful community, has named Saturday, April 27, “Great American Cleanup Day” in Billings. Volunteers across town are invited to come out as a community to tackle litter in their neighborhoods and public spaces.

Every year, the Keep America Beautiful network of seven hundred affiliates launches thousands of volunteers to spring clean the nation. Last year, Bright n’ Beautiful, the Yellowstone County affiliate, mobilized some 1300 local volunteers and cleared 11 tons of litter during Great American Cleanup season.

“Great American Cleanup is a beloved annual tradition in Billings and all across Yellowstone County,” said Bright n’ Beautiful’s Joanie Tooley. “There’s something exhilarating about hundreds of neighbors getting outside together on the same morning to clear away a winter’s worth of litter.  What a great American way to greet spring, pitch in, and honor our beautiful Montana home.”

Those interested in joining litter pick-up activities in Billings, Shepherd, and Worden/Ballantine on Great American Cleanup Day are encouraged to contact Bright n’ Beautiful at brightnbeautifulbillings@gmail.com, or 406-248-6617, to sign up for a cleanup spot, arrange to borrow safety vests and litter pickers, and receive free supplies. Bright n’ Beautiful is again working with Just Serve (www.justserve.org) to match area volunteers with joint litter-cleanup projects at Billings landmarks and parks on Great American Cleanup/Day of Community Service, April 27. All volunteer cleanup efforts will be included in the Yellowstone County 2024 Great American Cleanup report to Keep America Beautiful.

Home Base on Billings Cleanup Day, April 27, will be the Billings Community Center, 360 N. 23rd St. Doors open at 8:30 AM for check-in and supplies. Walk-ins welcome while supplies last. Clean up in Billings 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
