YELLOWSTONE COUNTY CHRISTMAS TREE RECYCLING

The Christmas Tree Recycling Program is a popular joint project of Bright n' Beautiful, the City of Billings, Yellowstone County and the City of Laurel as well as generous community partners, Billings Public Works, Zoo Montana, Republic Services, Billings Parks, Schnitzer Steel, Rocky Mountain Compost, and Hanser's Automotive. Usually starting the day after Christmas and running until January 21, Yellowstone County folks are encouraged to drop off their undecorated, unbagged, fresh-cut trees at convenient locations in Billings, Shepherd, Huntley, Lockwood and Laurel. The collected trees are then transported to our good friends at Rocky Mountain Compost for grinding into rich pine mulch to be used in creating habitat for birds, bedding for animals, flooring for playgrounds, and refreshing of trails at ZooMontana, Montana Audubon Center and other beautiful natural settings in Yellowstone County. In recent years good citizens have returned over 3,000 trees annually to nature! It's a grand way of allowing your tree to remain a thing of beauty all year round. Bright n' Beautiful is honored to coordinate this community effort every year in Yellowstone County.  If you are aware of a worthy organization in need of Bright n' Beautiful mulch please let us know and we'll make arrangements!
